Kinda funny seeing Ushio getting along with her own shadow, but then again, I guess it’s just like her to not sweat the details. :p

So we finally get to see everything that happened at the beach on the day of Ushio’s death. Even knowing the outcome already, it was still pretty heartbreaking to watch.

Xyrus • 1 year ago

It is still unknown how Ushio aware that it is Shin who can help them.

Byno • 1 year ago

I think it's just that she's aware if she dies, then Shin would come back, and she trusts Shin the most, even if he did leave the island, because of her love for him

Xyrus • 1 year ago

But a normal person cannot defeat a shadow and yet she seems aware that Shin is not a normal person. Actually my guess is that Ushio's Shadow still doesn't remember everything like what happen to her after she drown.

Kirito • 1 year ago

Actually they've killed shadow and know how to kill them so yeah they can defeat shadow 1 by 1 and We still don't even know why that shadow ushio is good did it malfunction or something when she was copied

Xyrus • 1 year ago

How would Ushio assume that Shin aware that he can defeat shadow? besides that it's obvious that he will just get killed if he went as a person who know nothing.

Byno • 1 year ago

There's still a lot of mysteries that haven't been answered yet. I'm going to start reading the manga later to look for myself XD

Mufti Saili • 1 year ago

I can't explain because spoiler, but this is the Chicken and Egg paradox.

Kirito • 1 year ago

The answer is all here I'm a little satisfied ushio and the shadow ushio working together the memories that ushio lost because of that shadow shiori and how ushio was strangled to death in that sea its all coming together now all they need to do is fight those dirty shadows

Zypperh • 1 year ago

It's more than that. In previous episodes we can see the eye he has is not from him but from the girl with red eyes, the one we see at the end, the one shadows call mother. Ushio or maybe her shadow probably gave him that eye by stealing it.

zo • 1 year ago

Few mysteries were solved but more mysteries were yet again made T_T

Kirito • 1 year ago

I feel like they finally solved it all they can do now is to complete the mission and kill the root of the shadows and that mark on the hand of shin is gonna be a big problem

kaeyasupremacy • 1 year ago

yeah like I want to know why he has two color eyes an all

Hououin Kyouma • 1 year ago

That was actually explained in episode 5 I think. One of the shadows called it the mother shadows "Eye of Time" or something. My guess is Shadow Ushio somehow stole it from the Mother and gave it to Shin, which is that first scene we saw in ep 1.

kaeyasupremacy • 1 year ago

that could explain it too

{ Bloodderfly } • 1 year ago

What a heartbreaking moment.

Kirito • 1 year ago

Yeah that scene was just memory and then suddenly the boss of the shadows suddenly shows up and putted a mark on the hands of shin like how is that even possible that was just video of the mind or maybe because she's still connected to shadow ushio

Ipinefortheapple • 1 year ago

Just a theory but if the shadows are sharing information as stated in ep 8, one can see them as individual data network connected by a central data network a.k.a the Mother. So when Ushio accessed her memories/data she entered the network allowing Mother to become aware of her and what she was doing. Mother also has the power access and enter the space of each shadow when they're inside the network.

How's that for a theory! Lol

Dopnoster2k1 • 1 year ago

Well its her mother (shadow of Mother) soo all the shadows are connected to mother somehow i guess soo that why in the video she can grab things or see people i guess

esesemssm • 1 year ago

May be all the shadows are just her manifestations only

sashageyo sashageyo • 1 year ago

it was a plot twist

Kirito • 1 year ago

We still don't know why shin has that blue eye and how did he even get that and how can he time leap travel go back in time

esesemssm • 1 year ago

That eye looks like Ushio's eye, or may be the Shadow-Ushio's eye. Similar colour. It's odd that other people are not noticing the color difference.

Hououin Kyouma • 1 year ago

Its actually been revealed whose eye it is. Its the eye of the Shadow boss, or "Mother", notice that she has one red eye and one eye with no colour.

I love Ushio, and I love it more that the anime knows we need more Ushio!

Summertime render author/creator: i give you two Ush-
Me: I WILL TAKE YOUR ENTIRE STOCK NOW!

Kirito • 1 year ago

The real Ushio is dead and the ghost of ushio looks like she is guiding shinpei everytime he dies

Lucyw18 • 1 year ago

yup i really liked the dynamic of the two ushio's having each others back but still wasn't expecting shadow ushio to be able to manipulate her hair like a weapon

g@be • 1 year ago

Me: so Ushio has killed more shadows than Shinpei huh.
Ushio: technically its my shadow
Me: tomato tomato, makes no difference
Shinpei: i actually helped Ryunoske ki-
Me: shut up you beta cuck mc, you shoud have stayed in tokyo to play your shokugeki's (food wars)

Yashondowski • 1 year ago

Yo bro
Do u know why Ushio's shadow didn't use her super human like abilities under the water to get to the surface faster.
We saw her use it in the fight vs another Ushio shadow at the mountain. But why not under the water or I'm missing something?

Vincent Santos • 1 year ago

Manga reader here and im here to tell you why she can't use her super human abilities. She's underwater. Also, here's some info they didn't animate. Whenever someone grabs a shadow's projected body, it can't move. This explains why when shiori's shadow grabbed ushio's shadow, ushio's shadow said "i can't move!" While the real ushio, can. Hopefully this clears up something lol

kaeyasupremacy • 1 year ago

LOL I KEEP MIXING UP THE 2 USHIO'S.....The whole time

IamCree • 1 year ago

I just gave up and figured I'd wait till the end to see which had been which lol

Kirito • 1 year ago

I really thought the one who was holding shiori was the real ushio but it was shadow ushio and the real Ushio died while drowning that shadow shiori but it didn't work there's still that hand shadow of shiori they still both lost the real shiori died and the shadow got like 20% left

g@be • 1 year ago

Remember the ep where the giant shadow said wat happens when a boss in a game understand elecricity and respawn, and it decides to pull the plug on the game?
This episode felt that way, a simple video recording and harmless survey of memories went from 0 to 100 real quick when a past memory actually touches an observer (a main antagonist who actually thinks outside the box and plans 4 dimensional)
Really great ep, 10/10 solid

Vlad • 1 year ago

Even more so that her sacrifice was utterly in vain and the other didn't even last a day longer...

Noah Winns-Cromer • 1 year ago

You know what's even more heartbreaking?

I'm dying of feet shots here, and no one's called 911! XD

zookeeper02 • 10 months ago

I was looking for that comment fellow cultured mate.

Jacman99 • 1 year ago

Yeah I really like that too. It also made me think about some people with a certain personality might clash (or not get along) with someone identical or similar to themselves

That was the saddest shit I've ever seen. Shadow Ushio was insecure thinking about how she's a monster that will never live up to the real Ushio while real Ushio never thought of Shadow Ushio that way, she treated her like a human until the very end.

One a new note though.. Shinpei taking no prisoners from here on out.

Zarunagi Iromano • 1 year ago

The question is, why is Ushio's shadow the only one capable of having conscience?

kaeyasupremacy • 1 year ago

AGREED

Kunare • 1 year ago

I'm sure we'll find out soon but my current guess is because the shadow took a picture of Ushio with many people around maybe they also appeared in frame and thus caused anomalies in the copying process.

peanut-san • 1 year ago

Its really painful and seeing shin crying hit me hard.

Essay - Kun • 1 year ago

oh, so she managed to control her shadow.

14:38 Wait what, how come her shadow is so powerful as the rest of them.
Although I like this anime, it's inconsistent with the plot development and so many contradictions.
Good for a one-time watch.

kaeyasupremacy • 1 year ago

its the ep we all were waiting for

Kirito • 1 year ago

So shiori was the first victim that felt like someone was watching her at the back and it's sad we saw the real shiori unconscious then suddenly terminated
